The Lord is our Help.” I wrote this word in bold on a piece of sticky paper and stuck it to our home door nearly 19 years ago when several family emergencies and conflicts made it seem like our world was collapsing all around us. The sticky note is no longer there, but it never can get lost on me – from my eyes and my thoughts. As time went on, one of the most difficult and chaotic seasons of our lives started to disappear. We attained Education and developed a heart for helping others.

And the last 8 years, “Lord, you are our Help,” became a prayer that I needed like oxygen. It has really proved perfect to me. I have seen God work on our dream. From an idea to a reality. BLCDF and now Agape Star Christian School are in existence. Today, many children are beneficiaries of these initiatives. Our first ever school Exams will be completed on 20th of April 2023; for Term one.

I don’t know where you are today, and whether you are gradually finding your rhythm and beginning to enjoy sheltering your minds in the place of God’s help for your dreams and other needs. Trusting in Him when you are overwhelmed by anxiety over how you will continue to see His provisions for the vision. But regardless of where we stand, the Word of God is trustworthy and true, and it is applicable to our lives here and now. God is our present Help in times of trouble (and need).

Here is a scripture that I held onto during the darkest moments of my years that I repeated to myself over and over during anxious, sleepless nights. Now, these are my prayers for you, for our world, that in the midst of ever uncertain circumstances, we would know a sure and certain God who loves us and holds us in the midst of even lack.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what it seems, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal”. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
